The in-ground basketball goal system price will typically include the five major components that must be installed. These include: Ground Anchor, Pole Assembly, a pair of Extension Arms, a Backboard, and a Rim. You may add pole padding and backboard padding or additional accessories sold separately. Not included is the cost of the installation labor and the concrete mix used in the installation of the ground anchor. Take note that some Goalsetter dealers will use a single purchase price that includes the components AND the cost of installation.
The differences between the goals are pole size, pole design, backboard size, backboard material, height adjustability, and warranties. You can take a closer look at these options by checking out our How To Choose page.
Unlike many basketball goals, the Goalsetter System does not use a direct bury method or “J” bolts assembly. Each Goalsetter System is anchored using our patented ground anchor hinge system. First, the ground anchor is placed in a 4’ deep hole (18” diameter) and secured using Quick Crete. When dry, the hinge system allows complete assembly of the Goalsetter basketball hoop before it is raised upright and bolted to the ground anchor. If you have installation questions, see our basketball goal installation guide.
Our tempered glass backboard has a superior ball response and is the backboard material of choice in residential settings Acrylic is recommended for park and school applications or areas where there is unsupervised play. Because it is a softer material, acrylic withstands vandalism better than glass. Both backboards carry Limited Lifetime Warranty when used in their proper applications.
180 Breakaway Rim: Designed for indoor and outdoor play, this rim absorbs the energy from a player for the safest possible rim. This basketball rim breaks front to back and side-to-side.
Heavy Duty Flex Breakaway Rim: This is our “standard” rim and most commonly chosen by our residential customers. This breakaway style rim has a single spring and deflects 15 degrees with 30 lbs. of down pressure. Equipped with continuous netlocks, the Heavy Duty Flex rim is more than sufficient for most residential play and carries a 2-year Limited Warranty.
GS Collegiate Rim: This competition breakaway rim features two springs allowing it to deflect 15 degrees with 130 lbs. of down pressure. Meets or exceeds High School and NCAA specifications for competitive play. This rim carries an unconditional 1-year Warranty.
Double Ring Static Rim: The first and only unconditional lifetime replacement warranty on a basketball rim! This double 5/8” sold alloy steel rim construction makes it ideal for outdoor courts at park and recreation settings.
18: This basketball rim is a fixed rim with continuous net lock. This basketball hoop rim has no flex and breakaway.
Note: All of these are made to dunk on. They are mounted to a steel plate, not to the backboard itself.
Chances are, the next person that buys your house is going to want to keep it! If you’re lucky enough to take it with you, you simply loosen the five bolts holding the pole to the anchor. The anchor stays in the ground, and you get to take the hoop with you. You can purchase a new basketball anchor when you’re ready to reinstall it.
This decision is up to you! The Installation and Assembly of a Goalsetter basketball goal can be accomplished by two or three people without the use of ladders or scaffold. The patented ground anchor hinge system allows complete assembly of the Goalsetter basketball hoop before it is raised upright. The toughest task during installation of a Goalsetter goal is digging the hole. Each goal features our patented ground anchor. First, a four-foot deep hole (18 inch diameter) must be dug where you would like your basketball goal located. After placing your ground anchor into the hole, fill it with QuickCrete (10-12 bags). When the cement is completely dry (usually two days is sufficient), the pole structure, extension arms, and backboard can be assembled and raised upright. Most of our dealers also offer installation as an option for an additional fee.
